First pixels, then plenty… enter waves!
stockholm by waves is about sound. The sound of Stockholm, to be precise.
We have been strolling the city, producing photos with text. Since the beginning in October 2005 we’ve published roughly 800 pictures on our photo blogs, pixels and plenty. And not just images but also accompanying captions, links to other stuff near and far with comments from around the globe. Since we’re fortunate to be an entire quartet (mind you, with an occasional guest!) we like to think that we provide some diversity in the objects we cover and in how we express ourselves. Fear not, this won’t change!
However, we’re tempted to try adding yet another dimension to your experience of Stockholm by letting you listen to the city. Nice and comforting sounds, strange and inexplicable stuff or maybe pure noise such as road traffic. All this is still very much tentative and whether or not this idea leads anywhere depends a lot on your input. So please let us know what you think. Would you be interested in listening? To what? And how? A podcast?

Hey, this is cool, Per. I liked the subway - we grew up in and around Tokyo and went everywhere on trains and subways so it was great to hear the wound of someone else's subway (and not be on a crowded train ourselves.)
Good luck in this project as well. A few things I'd personally be interested in:
* Children playing in the playground
* People looking at animals in the zoo
* a short clip of the weather forecast in Swedish

There’s not much here to enjoy yet but if we manage to get this thing on the road it could become interesting. I’ve no idea about what we’ll be able to ”deliver” in the near future – there are technical issues to settle about sound compression as well as format and structure of the site but we’ll certainly keep your suggestions in mind.
As a matter of fact I think you could tune in to the most recent weather forecast right here. Let me know if it works! :)

Hey, it works, though it was a bit hard to select the content. I heard the Godmorgon, världen! on P1, in what I suspect is the morning news. Very calm. Nice.
Now I'm thinking I should have taken the video cam after we had a lot of rain on Wednesday - the beach looked a little rougher than usual and the sound would have been fantastic.
This is a beta version of a new and fancy web radio from our national broadcasting company and I have no idea how things would work on the other side of the globe. When I click on that link I land directly in the beginning of the most recent weather report.
Godmorgon Världen is a weekly show which airs on Sunday mornings. It’s a broad mix of everything from domestic and foreign news to some amusement, culture and other stuff.
